Why I Blog

Over the past few months, I have had several people ask me about writing a book or starting a blog. Neither one of those things seemed to be a good idea to me. Though I write a ridiculous number of Papers, I just didn’t think that extracurricular writing is what I needed to be doing. However, the more I post my “Pictures With a Purpose,” the more limited I feel by what I am writing. When I write about my pictures, I usually try to keep the post around 150 words. Anyone who knows me realizes that I am a rather long-winded person. This means it is incredibly hard for me to limit myself to 150 words when I describe a picture.
One of the biggest purposes for this blog will be expanding my thoughts about each one of my pictures. After all this is said and done, I might publish the 365 pictures into a bible study. That is a long way off however, so you shouldn’t hold your breath quite yet. We will see what happens as time passes by.
The second purpose I see in this blog is the opportunity to set up a podcast. I am much better at expressing myself in spoken word, so I would like the opportunity for people to listen to my past teachings and future ones. I also think it would be fun to do some updates via Podcast.
Lastly, and most importantly, I want to use this blog to express my feelings about Christ. Jesus is constantly showing me different things. He is a God that speaks. He is not silent. As he speaks to me, I would like to share thoughts from the Word with people everywhere. God’s Word is the purpose for me being alive. The most I can do is simply Whisper some of those truths to the people who are silly enough to read my blogs. In all honesty, you would be much better off just opening your bible. However, if you do want to hear my opinions on the Word and everyday life experiences, stick around. Some of the things I post may be important to you.
I am nothing special. I am merely God’s servant. All I can do is follow the path that God has set out before me. You have to decide to follow the path that Christ has laid out before you. God has a purpose and a calling for your life. Run after this calling. There is nothing more important than being where God wants you to be.
